NOT SURE WHAT COOLANT TO USE?

NOT SURE WHAT COOLANT TO USE?

If In Doubt Flush It Out!

Identifying between NITRITE FREE (NF) and NITIRITED (NOAT) can be a little difficult and confusing

At Prestone we have identified the simplest method to establishing coolant type is the identification of the cooling system materials

Engines with Aluminium Cooling System

Use Nitrite Free (NF)

Cast Iron Engine Block with Brass and Copper Cooling System.

Use Nitrited (NOAT)

Other factors that identify Nitrite Free coolants can include

Engines that require Non 2-EH ( 2-Ethylhexanoic  )   formulation

Cooling systems that were fabricated using CAB  (Controlled Atmosphere Brazing) process for the soldering / brazing of aluminium radiator core and tubes

Most Volvo Off Road / Construction Equipment produced after 2006

Most engines produced after 2014

All Cummins 2014 on : All Detroit 2015 on : All Volvo & Mack 2017 on

Other factors that identify Nitrited (NOAT) coolants can include

Engines that have wet sleeve liners that require corrosion protection

All Caterpillar Off Road Engines

Engines that require Cummins Approval CES14439

Navistar, International, Cummins Engines pre 2014

Mixed Fleets

Prestone Nitrite Free with Cor-Guard is recommended for Mixed Fleets

Cor-Guard is backwards compatible and can be used to top of all other NF and NOAT coolant brands

Cor-Guard patented technology ensures Nitrite Free  is suitable for all engines when flushed and filled
