Prestone Command with Cor-Guard inhibitors is one of the most pivotal innovations the HD antifreeze / coolant category has seen in nearly 20 years.
Cor–Guard is a unique patented inhibitor that provides at least 5 times more rust and corrosion protection for the cooling system, starting from the very first water pump impellor rotation.
Since the introduction of Organic Acid Technology (OAT) inhibitors in A/F coolant, which enabled extended life protection, there has been little or no development in cooling fluids.
While OAT provides this extended life protection, it does take up to 6000 – 10,000km to coat the cooling system components and start protecting against rust and corrosion. This is acceptable for brand new engines with new cooling systems, but not so good for the older engines and or neglected cooling systems.
